Education and Training
My passion for working with adolescents, children and families comes from working within residential, day treatment facilities, child welfare systems, and school districts over the course of the last 12 years. I have received extensive training in attachment & adoption issues, interpersonal neurobiology, collaborative problem-solving, play therapy, DBT, and trauma. I have facilitated educational groups on Collaborative Problem Solving, Love and Logic, and At-Risk youth.
I received my Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Psychology from Corban University and a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Counseling from George Fox University. I attend on-going supervision, and trainings to ensure the highest standard of care for my clients, and to comply with state liscensure requirements.
Experential Therapies
I believe there is benefit to experiencing things in the here and now, which is why I enjoy using experience-based modalities such as:
- yoga
- play-therapy
- equine-assisted therapy.
